Staff Biographies


Cameron
Cameron is a graduate of Kansas City Community College with a degree in Mortuary Science. Aside from being the Operations Manager, he also serves as a Grossing Technician/Autopsy Assistant for a private lab in Kansas City, Missouri. Prior to this, he was a Forensic Autopsy Technician for the Jackson County, Missouri, Medical Examiner's Office for 12 years. In addition, he contracts autopsy services to six other agencies in the Kansas City area. Cameron is also an Autopsy Technician for the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team, Region 7, for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

In the sixteen years Cameron has been an Autopsy Technician/Mortician, he has been involved in every aspect of an autopsy from a hospital setting instructing medical students and residents, to a medico-legal aspect of performing autopsies on homicides, suicides, traffic accidents and other nonviolent deaths, to working on transplant teams as a Tissue Procurement Technician removing eyes, skin and long bones. When he worked in the funeral home setting, his duties were embalming, casketing, funeral directing and sales.




Blanda
Blanda is another one of our Autopsy Technicians. She graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Blanda did her internships with the Greene County Medical Examiner's Office, Springfield, MO and Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office, Kansas City, MO. Her skills also include: Scanning Electron Microscopy (using forensic science to ID specimens, etc.), Molecular Biology (DNA restriction digest, DNA finger printing, etc.), Biomolecular Interactions and Chemistry (experience with IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, etc.).

Blanda has a son who is 7 months old and in her spare time, loves to be outside and loves to ride off road on four wheelers. She brings to our office a vast knowledge and skills that are a huge asset to our company.



Jonell
Jonell is a Kansas licensed Clinical Specialist in Social Work (LSCSW) with a lengthy history of working with individuals, groups, and families who have experienced a variety of losses. After earning an MSW from the University of Kansas in 1976, she has worked as an Adoption Specialist, a Program Supervisor for female juvenile offenders and a Bereavement Counselor with hospice patients and their families.

Jonell is married, has one adult married son, and enjoys the role of grandmother to three grandchildren, Lillian, Owen, and Ella.
